Symposium: “Elizabeth Detention Center: Past, Present, and Future”

This Symposium bridges perspectives from formerly detained community members, grassroots organizers, academics, and other policy experts. Organized by Dr. Ulla Berg and the Department of Latino and Caribbean Studies, in collaboration with American Friends Service Committee (AFSC), First Friends of NJ and NY, and Detention Watch Network. Twenty-five speakers will cover academic, policy, legal and activist perspectives on the last remaining detention center in New Jersey, and US immigration enforcement policies more broadly.
