Course Description: Mass media and culture. The impact of mass media on the production and consumption of cultural identities. Inquiry into representations of gender, sexuality, the body, ethnicity, race, and nationhood in mass media discourse. The mass media in a postcolonial, global, and transnational context. Prerequisite: 01:070:101 or permission of instructor.
