Contingent upon the approval of the undergraduate program director (UPD), a student may apply any field school towards his or her Anthropology major or minor. For this approval, please present the syllabus for a proposed field school to the UPD. Some reputable field schools – including two run by Rutgers itself – are listed below. You need not present the UPD with syllabi from the Rutgers-run programs, but you should see him or her before enrolling to ensure that the credits granted will fulfill your outstanding requirements. A student may also apply for a faculty-supervised internship towards his or her major or minor. The faculty supervisor ensures the academic merit of a given internship. You must request and obtain his or her signature on the linked form before the start of the internship. The internship will appear as an independent study (Anthropology 495) on your transcript. Please pay close attention to emails announcing internship opportunities.
