21 course credits (3 of which are for 2nd Year Field Statement) + up to a maximum of 6 research credits in summer (max. 24)

6 research credits – pre-dissertation research (field, lab, museum), language training, grant proposal writing, independent study, etc.

have accumulated 45 course credits plus 15 research credits and will need only 12 more research
credits.
