Course Description: Experiences and expressions of gender in historical and contemporary Africa emphasizing issues of diversity and commonality, modalities of power, and articulation with other forms of difference, such as ethnicity, class, and nationality. Prerequisite: 01:070:101 or permission of instructor.  Credit not given for both this course and 01:988:379.
